GUEST – DR. STANLEY OKORO

Dr. Stanley A. Okoro, a Nigerian-American plastic surgeon, is the Founder and CEO of Georgia Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, with practices in Marietta and Atlanta, Georgia, as well as international locations in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria. Double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, he graduated with honors from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, after earning an undergraduate degree with high honors from the University of the District of Columbia. His extensive training includes a five-year general surgery residency at Emory University in Atlanta and a three-year plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Before entering private practice, Dr. Okoro served 12 years in the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of Commander, and held prestigious roles such as Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and Chief of General Surgery at the U.S. Naval Hospital Great Lakes, Illinois. With expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, body, and face—specializing in facial rejuvenation, breast reconstruction, augmentation, and body contouring—he has been recognized as one of America’s Top Plastic Surgeons (2014) and voted Best Plastic Surgeon in Atlanta multiple times (2015, 2017, 2018) by BestSelf Magazine. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of prestigious organizations like the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Okoro also contributes to philanthropy as the founder of the Georgia Plastic Foundation and Executive Director of Imo Medical Mission, Inc., leading biannual medical missions to underserved regions since 2003. Married to Agnes, he balances his professional accolades—including the Axel C. Hansen, MD Distinguished Physician Award (2019)—with a commitment to education as a former Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
